General Laser Safety Training @ I01, Central building, Ballroom
Dear all, Welcome to ISTA and thank you for your interest to start using laser equipment. This general laser safety training is meant for NEW scientists and staff that are planning to use laser based equipment and/or need access to a laser lab. New users of microscopes of the IOF machine park have to sign up for the IOF Newcomer training, where the laser safety to use microscopes is already included. This General laser safety training is planned for every first Monday of the month, at 15:00h and normally takes about 30 minutes Request for “General Laser Safety Training” → Read More ...

Ventilation maintenance in Building i06
Feb 26 @ 07:00 – 16:00
The microscopy rooms in the basement of I06 will not provide air ventilation on this day. This means… Use of CO2 is not allowed! There is no air exchange – You can set up experiments, but prolonged stays in the rooms are not allowed. We are sorry for the inconveniences caused. Cheers, Your IOF Team
Remote seminar: TimSOM microrheology with the Impetux SENSOCELL Optical Trap 10:00
Remote seminar: TimSOM microrheology with the Impetux SENSOCELL Optical Trap @ Remote (Online event)
Feb 26 @ 10:00 – 11:00
Remote seminar: TimSOM microrheology with the Impetux SENSOCELL Optical Trap @ Remote (Online event)
Remote seminar: TimSOM microrheology with the Impetux SENSOCELL Optical Trap The Imaging and Optics Facility is happy to host a training seminar on microrheology by Dr. Frederic Català-Castro, application Scientist at Impetux S.L. We have recently added an Impetux SENSOCELL Optical Trap system, combined with a Nikon X-Light-V3 Spinning Disk microscope. Frederic will explain different biological applications using TimSOM, a single laser optical tweezer-based method for active microrheology, which allows to measure the viscoelastic material properties of protein condensates, cell cytoplasm and nuclei.
